Are Modular Sofas Safe?

If you are seeking to update your living room aesthetic this season one of the most sought after pieces on the market is the modular sofa, a unique contemporary furniture piece which is constructed by slotting together individual sections to assemble a sofa suite. These innovative new products quickly becoming extraordinarily popular in interior design circles but as they aren't built in the conventional manner, there is every reason to ask whether they are actually safe to use for your living room or lounge. So if you find yourself questioning the safety of a piece which is already broken into separate pieces, here is a quick guide to allay your fears on the subject.
When looking at a modular sofa in a showroom perhaps one of the first things you will notice is that they tend to be wider and deeper than a conventional sofa but offer far less in terms of a back support than you would otherwise expect. This is perhaps one of the main concerns for a number of shoppers in the sense that without a solid back support it's actually surprisingly easy to fall off a modular suite in comparison to a conventional design, causing injury to the user. However, provided that you are not seeking to lean back on a chaise section, where the back rest is entirely removed, you should feel secure that you won't incur any such injury as each sofa is designed to support the user and will undergo numerous safety tests during production to check for build quality.

3 Easy Tips When Shopping For A Sectional Sofa

Sectional sofas are one of the best designs you could ever choose for seats. They are unique and give your home a different look from the usual old-fashioned sofas you are used to. In addition, they are just as comfortable as the puffy sofas. If you are planning to buy one, then here are some pointers to help you make a wise sofa purchase.
  • Keep in mind the space available
What is the shape of the space you intend to fit the sofa? Majority of you are used to the L-shaped sofas, when you can actually make the same type of sofas but different shapes like C-shape. Such a sofa will best suit a circular space, while the L-shaped needs a much bigger and rectangular-shaped space. The available space should also help you decide on how big the sofa should be, the number of sections to use and how to customize some elements of the sofa that will work for your home.

Are Modular Sofas Better Than Corner Units?

When it comes to interior design, two types of sofa are remarkably popular on the mass market - the modular sofa and the corner unit. Both are designed to be used in modern settings and both are immensely capacious in terms of seating the maximum amount of people within a designated space, so there is a great deal of similarity between the two. However, when it comes to choosing either a modular or a corner sofa for your home, which style is better and what should you look for when picking out a design that works for you?
Perhaps the better known of the two is the corner sofa which appears to have become by far the most popular and most advertised style of sofa available on the mass market. With sofa megastores and major online websites offering corner sofas at heavily discounted prices you'd be forgiven for thinking that the corner sofa wins hands down purely in terms of cost. There is also a huge range of styles, fabric choices and designs available to choose from so there really is no shortage of reasons to prefer a corner unit in a range of different circumstances. Indeed, with so many of us going out and buying corner sofas, retailers are competing to offer the very best deals on these styles, driving down the prices of corner sofas even further than you might otherwise expect, especially during sale periods in January and August.

Are Modular Sofas Just A Fad?

When it comes to interior design trends worth keeping an eye on, the rise of modular sofas as the must have piece for a modern home is a striking example of a product which has risen to prominence in the past few decades. Standing out as a modern product in an industry dominated by heritage and tradition, modular sofas are composed of independent sofa sections than can be slotted together to form a wide variety of different styles. However some designers have questioned the longevity of the trend, arguing that modular sofas are simply a fad that will soon fade out of fashion, so is there any reason to question the long term appeal of the product?
Although created in the late 1950s, modular sofas only really became popular from the 1980s onwards as many people sought to update the chintzy décor of yesterday and looked for home furniture which both suited their hectic lifestyles and offered a dramatic departure from the formality and classical form of the past. During a time of immense socio-political change, modular sofas were thus thrust into the spotlight as an item that seems to match the aspirations of a new young urban professional class with significant disposable income to invest in their home décor.
To this day, modular sofas remain primarily a luxury item for discerning individuals rather than a mass-market product. Contrasting their style with that of the traditional sofa or corner unit, it's clear that the sectional sofa is both uniquely modern in style but also remarkably versatile in functional form. For their detractors, this restricts the appeal of the product to a small range of very specific settings unlike traditional designs which are timeless in style and are suitable for a range of interiors. For many years, msectional sofas were largely seen as a the preserve of the design purist who would be prepared to invest significantly in interior design and remained a marginal product in most designers collections.

How to Build a Modular Sofa

Modular sofas are a fantastic way to optimise space and infuse some variety into your living room arrangement. Ideal for larger spaces, they usually come in several pieces which can be configured in a variety of arrangements. This makes them more flexible than the conventional sofa and easier to adjust and customise in accordance with your specific requirements. Although predominantly available in contemporary styles, modular sofa units can be upholstered in a wide range of fabrics and with optional details and finishes which can make them both luxurious and unique furniture pieces.
There are a few factors you will need to take into account if you are considering buying a modular unit for your home. These include the spatial restrictions of your living room as well as the size, style and your existing interior design theme. You will need to carefully measure the space you would like your new modular unit to sit in and consider the colour scheme and style of the room in order to determine what will be the best fit. Bear in mind that you will want enough space for your unit to be completely adjustable in its full range of configurations. You will then need to determine what type of fabric you want your sofa to be upholstered in, bearing in mind how easy it is to clean.

How to Choose the Right Dining Table

Dining tables come in many shapes and sizes and it is important to know what type of table is best for you and your home. When it comes to choosing a dining table it is important to note the size, functionality, style, and price. Not every dining table can fit or match the style of the room so it is important to find one that compliments the look and feel of the room.
When picking a table it is critical to note the size of the room the table will be in. If the table is too small it will be dwarfed by the room and look out of place, while if it is too big it will overshadow the rest of the room and use up too much space. It is important to find the balance that will allow for the right fit for the room as well as the number of people that are going to sit around it.

Are Modular Sofas More Expensive To Buy?

When it comes to the latest in interior style and home décor you'd be hard pushed to find a more elegant showpiece item of furniture than then modern modular sofa, perhaps the single most innovate step forward in home furniture of the 20th century period. With their elegantly proportioned dimensions, chic modern style and unique sectional design, modular sofas are becoming exceptional popular with leading designers and increasingly sought after by the general public. But just how expensive is the typical modular sofa and should you be wary of paying more for a sectional sofa than a conventional design?
Comparing average prices in the marketplace it should quickly become obvious that modular sofas do tend to be considerably more expensive than conventional one-piece designs. There are a few reasons why this is the case. Firstly, as each section of a modular sofa is built with its own frame, upholstery and cover, the actual production process for creating modular sofas is far more time consuming and thus expensive than it is to bulk manufacture single unit sofas. Secondly, as sectional sofas are relatively new to the market they tend to be primarily manufactured by small artisan suppliers and sold by luxury retailers rather than mass-market suppliers.

Choosing Suitable Home Accessories To Pair With Modular Sofa

When it comes to redeveloping your living space to set it off with a new modern interior look, modular sofas represent an excellent investment. With a sleek contemporary style that you can't help but admire, these innovative furniture pieces are becoming far more popular as many more of us opt to live in modern urban apartments with open plan living spaces. However, when it comes to accessorising your look it can be difficult to know exactly what to pair with a modular sofa, so if you are grappling with this type of problem, what should you consider when selecting home accessories?
As with any living room setup, all of your decisions relating to home accessories will in some way depend upon the large items of furniture in the space. Consequently, with a modular suite you'll more often than not be looking for distinctly modern showpiece additions that accentuate the contemporary style of the main piece. As a basic rule of thumb, this tends to rule out classical home accessories such as footstools, classic consoles and traditional ornaments, all of which will look distinctly out of context and detract from the overall look and feel of the layout.

Garden and Patio Furniture - What to Look For

Garden and patio furniture can really add a lot of appeal to your patio but it is important to choose your outdoor furniture carefully to ensure you get the best looking and longest lasting furniture.  This applies to furnishing a new patio or redecorating an established one.
When choosing your patio furniture you should consider several important points.  These are:
  • 1. Durability
  • 2. What the furniture is made of
  • 3. Color
  • 4. Size
  • 5. Does it complement your patio and home?
Outdoor furniture can be made from many different materials such as plastic, wood, wicker and metal and comes in many different styles.  Before you choose your patio furniture decide what sort of look you want your patio to have and how much room there is for furniture.  This last point, how much room, is very important as you do not want all of the room on your patio to be taken up by furniture nor do you want a tiny setting in a huge space.

Eco-Friendly Wood Furniture - Go Green With Your Home Decor

We all share this beautiful planet called earth! And we all are equally responsible to save it by doing every little bit we can. The easiest way to do this is using eco friendly products. When it comes to our home decor, we can buy wood home furniture that is eco-friendly. I'll tell you how to go green with your furniture wood but before knowing some tips about buying eco friendly furniture, it is helpful to know in what ways furniture affects environment and how we can minimize this environmental pollution by going for green furniture?
What is Green Furniture?
We all know that furniture wood is a forest product. Many trees are harvested for getting that fine wood for your home and office furniture. However, green furniture is not green because it comes from forests but it is green in the sense of its being eco-friendly. Furniture is considered eco-friendly according to its impact on the environment. How the wood is harvested and to what extent this contributes to forest depletion, whether it has eco-friendly upholstery on it, how much chemicals and toxic paints etc. are used in making them, how it will affect the surrounding air quality- all contribute in defining a furniture as eco friendly. When a wood furniture causes minimum deforestation, uses non toxic materials for finishes and do not pollute the home environment, it is called an eco-friendly wood furniture.

Furniture Design Returns To The Classics

Goodbye Shabby Chic! Welcome back traditional furniture design and style. But, don't just take our word for it. A casual search for furniture on Pinterest, the fast-growing virtual bulletin board that's a go-to site for design ideas, yields pages of traditional pieces that would be as at home on the set of a 1940s Hollywood classic as in your living room, dining room or bedroom today. Gone are the painted chests with the mis-matched hardware and garage sale finds. Today's furnishings are solid, timeless and have sleek, elegant lines.
According to "Elle Decor" magazine, one of the hottest trends at the High Point (NC) furniture market this year was the abundance of "statement" dining room tables. Gone are the days when an eat-in kitchen counter or a table that doubled as a desk during the day sufficed as an eating surface. Designated dining rooms are back in style and so are the furniture pieces that make those rooms look dramatic and impressive.
What's a statement dining room table?
Just what is a statement dining room table, you ask? We define it as a solid wood table that commands your eye the minute you enter the dining room or dining area. It's a table that can withstand the whims of decorators and changing fabric patterns. It's a furniture piece that not only looks sensational today, but will still be turning heads in your daughter's dining room several decades from now.
What's different about today's dining room tables and dining rooms of several decades ago is that these rooms and these tables are made to be used. If your idea of a dining room table is the place the family gathered once or twice a year for holiday dinners, it's time to revise your thinking. Today's dining rooms are made to be gathering places, not just for the annual turkey dinner, but to break bread together throughout the year. After all, what's the sense in having a room that you hardly ever use?
Other Elements of traditional furnishings
How do you recognize traditional furnishings? Though the types of wood and the dimensions used on such pieces may change, traditional furnishings have several things in common.
1. Good lines. Traditional furnishings have sleek lines that have withstood the test of time. Features like the cabriole legs on our Valencia square table, ball and claw feet, or the gently curved headboard and footboard on our Imperial sleigh bed will look as stylish in 20 years as they look today.
2. Solid wood. Traditional furnishings are made to last. Unlike trendy pieces, solid wood dining room sets, beds, cabinets and chairs are durable, pieces that will not only look good in your home, but ones you can give your sons and daughters to beautify their homes in decades to come. Woods like ebony, walnut, mahogany and cherry only get more beautiful as they age. Our mahogany Hudson Ridge collection of dressers and wardrobes is a good example.
3. Timeless pieces. If you've ever watched classic Hollywood movies with actors like Bette Davis or Joan Crawford, you've likely seen furnishings in those movies like our Elise dining sideboard or our solid mahogany Imperial office desk. Though you'll likely change your accessories over the years, good furnishing pieces are an investment that will grow with you and your family.
4. Size. Traditional furnishings tend to be large and imposing. This is not a design style that embraces delicate side tables or spindle legs. Traditional furnishings make a statement, like our Grand Portman pedestal dining table or our Grand Camden king bed. Because of their large size, when you invest in traditional furnishings, you don't need to purchase dozens of pieces. A few, well-chosen items will suffice.

FAQs About Falling Furniture and Furniture Tip-overs

  • My furniture is a high-end, well-made expensive piece from a very reputable furniture store. Can it still tip? YES. Very definitely yes. Any and every piece of freestanding furniture, a large appliance or a television set, including flat panels, can tip over. For furniture, all it takes is for a child to pull on, or stand in an open drawer, or on a shelf to cause it to tip and fall. Furniture includes but is not limited to: bedroom furniture, dressers, bookcases, armoires, TV stands and dining room furniture. No matter how small the child is, assume they can generate the force to tip the piece over. Even if the furniture is low to the ground it can tip over with devastating effects. All freestanding furniture pieces, large appliances or television sets need to be properly secured to the wall regardless of size. Properly securing furniture to a wall means attaching one end of an anti-tip kit to a stud and the other end to the frame of the furniture. Preferably, you want to attach that end to the underside of the top of the piece. If the furniture is not secured when a child opens a drawer and pulls on it or stands in it, the furniture could become a front-heavy torpedo. The innocent, unsuspecting child could become a victim of that torpedo. Do I need to fill in the rest of that story? Protect your children, properly secure all free-standing furniture.
  • When using an anti-tip kit, do I need to secure my furniture directly into a stud in the wall or will securing it into drywall be sufficient? Assume that neither sheetrock nor drywall is strong enough to withstand the possible torpedo-like fall that an unsecured piece of furniture or television may cause. The studs in your walls are built to hold the wall and roof of a home. All furniture, large appliances or television sets must be properly secured to a stud in the wall. Additionally, remember that unless you secure the anti-tip kit or anti-tip device onto the furniture, appliance or television set you are still at risk.

Second Hand Office Furniture - A Very Good Office Furnishing Option

Second hand office furniture is one of the best options for just about any company that wishes to save on the cost of office furnishings. If it's picked right, second hand furniture will serve you well for years to come, often for 2-3 times cheaper than the cost of new furniture.
Where exactly can you find second furniture for your office? Furniture retailers and online and newspaper classifieds offer a wide selection of quality second hand business furniture. However, if you purchase your furniture directly from the previous owner, such as with classified ads, there is no warranty or return policy for it.
You should also remember that your furniture is usually no longer has its manufacturers' warranty, even if you buy it through a large website. However, you may still have a limited warranty from the retailer on your furniture.
Contrary to popular belief, second hand business furniture is often premium quality furniture, without any scratches or dents, sold for almost twice as less than brand new furniture. You can often find cheap used office furniture, which looks exactly "as new".

Used Office Furniture - Save Money Without Sacrificing Style

If you are looking for ways to cut costs for your company, used office furniture is a great place to start. With the global economic recession of 2009, many organizations, both large and small, are purchasing second-hand and cheap office furniture, instead of costly new office furniture. Office accessories sales have severely declined, but used office furniture is in heavy demand. The fact of the matter is, the demand for second-hand furniture is always there.
The demand for second-hand furniture never really drops much, even in good economic times. The strong demand for used office furniture should not be hard to believe, even during good economic times. Most young organizations lack the funds to buy new furniture. These companies prefer purchasing quality used  furniture, and using the money they saved on growing their business. If you go through your local newspapers and browse websites, you will see that they are saturated with advertisements, selling great quality and modern  furniture. Even though new furniture is still being manufactured in high volumes, the demand for used furniture hasn't dropped.
When selecting furniture for your office, you should be very conscious about your budget constraints. Be it new office furniture, used office furniture or even office furniture for rent you should not go on a spending spree. The last two options are a major cost-cutting approach and can save you significant amounts of money.

Patio Furniture - What Are the Best Patio Furniture Materials For You?

Choosing patio furniture can be a little overwhelming because there are several material types and hundreds or possibly thousands of styles made from those materials. The type of materials that you choose should depend on your personal preference but also on the climate where you live, whether your patio is covered or uncovered, your budget and several other factors.
By keeping in mind your priorities and carefully thinking things through, selecting the right patio furniture be straightforward and easy. When you are choosing new furniture the first thing that you need to do is pick a type of material. The most common materials are wood, wicker and rattan, metal, and plastic.
    Wood
Wooden patio furniture is very popular and lasting. In general, wooden patio furniture can stand up to the elements like very hot sun or summer storms pretty well. However, if you decide to use wooden patio furniture you should treat it with a water resistant coating to protect it from drying out in the sun or becoming damaged from being out in the rain. It is a good choice if you do a lot of entertaining because it's very strong and rigid, thus can accommodate people of all different sizes. It's also simple to change the look of wooden patio furniture with just a new coat of paint in the color of your choice. Good quality wooden patio furniture can be expensive but if you carry out regular maintenance of painting or protective coating on the wood every few years, the furniture will inevitably last for a long time.

3 Things to Consider Before Visiting Furniture Stores

If you're looking for new furniture for your home, how do you know where to start? With so many furniture stores and types of furniture, the choices may seem overwhelming. First, narrow down what type of furniture you'd like, decide if you're interested in shopping at a smaller, local store or a large chain and if you're looking for custom furniture or something that's already been manufactured.
    Traditional Vs Contemporary Furniture Stores
First, decide what style furniture you'd prefer. It's a good idea to decide if you're planning on redoing an entire room or if you're just updating the look of a few pieces. Also, look at the rest of your home - you may not want to design a bedroom using heavy, dark, traditional furniture if the rest of your home is done in a modern style.
If you're unsure what type of furniture you like, look to interior design magazines for inspiration. You can cut out photos of rooms and furniture sets to bring in to the furniture stores. This way you'll be able to show the salesperson what you like and they can guide you to a starting off point when looking for new furniture. With a little guidance, you'll be able to put together a beautiful room, even if you don't know a lot about the differences between traditional and contemporary furniture styles.

How To Depend On Antique Or Primitive Art Furniture?

Antique or Primitive art furniture has always been unique as sturdy and lasting image furniture from primitive eras. The antique furniture was made up of original ash and walnut finishing of the hard wood used upon to construct certain unique pieces as eye-soaring furniture pieces. Timber was imported all around the globe with an extreme need to satiate and win many hearts with their intricate designs and patterns with a subtle touch of color but in primitive era the colors over furniture pieces were largely neglected so as old refined look classy of the piece would work wonders for King's and Queen's and other big dignitaries of our time. Antiquity provided elegance to a piece of furniture with the usage of different woods such as: Sheraton; American aristocratic Empire styled furniture; Chippendale and Hepple white furniture, etc. These all are the re-known and best names of the world's finest wooden furniture products that were durable and be easily handled with easy shifting from one place to another.
So long pieces of furniture exhibit roughly the same amount of degree of sophistication in it class and elegance as mixing furniture of multiple periods and nationalities is a fairly safe bet for many. The vernacular furniture often finds itself out of place in an aristocrat ambience. An Antique or Primitive furniture item according to its cost previously was roughly of the same price of the furniture we buy today for ex: a brilliant Oak Welsh Dresser can cost roughly the same amount of price of a Sheraton Mahogany made side-board of the bed of today. The auctioning of Antique furniture make the product to talk about its quality and durability automatically as Antique furniture items fetch more penny then compared to any man-made modern or contemporary furniture manufactured.

There are some ways to avoid spending too much on bedroom furniture. It's all about shopping smart, and thinking about what your bedroom furniture needs are.
    Softwoods Vs. Hardwoods
The material you choose for your bedroom furniture makes a big difference in price. If you're not too picky about having a certain kind of wood, for instance, you can save money with discount furniture.
If you are looking for wood furniture, you can save some money by buying softwoods instead of hardwoods. The difference is that softwoods come from certain types of trees like cedar, fir and pine. It has a certain coloring that is often yellow or red. Hardwoods are trees like oak, maple, poplar and teak.
Softwoods are less expensive than hardwoods because they are more abundant. You can sometimes buy softwoods from dealers that use tree farms. This is also a good way to buy green. Hardwoods carry a higher price tag because there aren't as many of those trees left on earth.
Most people will tell you that hardwoods are sturdier and generally better quality, but softwoods are easier on your wallet.

These are many different and popular types of garden furniture available to consumers today. When looking to buy furniture, it is imperative for you to consider what your tastes are, where the furniture is going to be placed and whether it will fit amongst other types of furniture already in place. Not all kinds of furniture, however, are suited to be kept outdoors. One has to keep in mind the effects of different elements of nature like the sun, sea air, wind etc on furniture while designing gardens and patios.
So what are the different kinds of furniture for the outdoors?

    Wicker Furniture
It is a distinctive type of furniture that is especially designed keeping gardens and porches in mind and enables these kinds of areas to look much better. Wicker furniture comes in a variety of colors, materials and styles. However, the most preferred is the floral look as it not only complements but enhances the beauty of its surroundings. Most types of good quality wicker furniture are weather resistant and can be placed either indoors or outdoors.

    Wrought Iron
Another popular type of garden furniture is made from wrought iron and is more durable than wicker garden furniture. It is made of a heavier material and can endure the elements better than wicker furniture. In fact most wrought iron furniture is rust proof, a requisite in metal patio furniture. Just like wicker furniture, wrought iron furniture, too, comes in a wide variety of styles and colors which enables one to choose one that is best suited for your yard, porch or garden.

    Wooden Furniture

It is especially nice when it is placed around a wooden arbor amongst garden flowers. It really helps to bring out the natural feel in one's backyard.

Wrought Iron Furniture for Every Season

Ideally, your furniture needs should be long-term, i.e. to say, the furniture you purchase for home decoration should be durable enough to give you maximum value for every penny spent out of your hard-earned money. This is because exotic furniture items come at a price and you don't want to end up spending that much money every year or so. This is where intelligent furniture purchases come in handy. An astute selection of furniture items for different locations of your home would lend the variety as well as longevity in the furniture.
Wrought Iron furniture can be an extremely useful asset to meet these ends. To start with, wrought iron furniture is extremely durable owing to the metal content. The exclusive wrought iron furniture is made by twisting and bending iron into presentable items like beds, tables, chairs, sofa sets, telephone stands, cabinets and virtually every kind of furniture required in a home. Your dining room, drawing room, living room, bedroom, kitchen, patio, outdoors, all have furniture requirements and wrought iron furniture has that variety to turn every available space into a delectable sight to behold. Add to this the rustic charm lent by the wrought iron furniture, and you have a home that is a purist's delight.

In combination with Amish furniture, wrought iron furniture sparkles with extra glitter. Amish made furniture is identical to wrought iron furniture in terms of nostalgic value. Modern Furniture for Modern Homes

The term 'Modern' reflects more of an inherent approach of a person towards life than the physical appearance. It signifies the adaptability towards change. The world is in a constant state of flux and the human tendency of embracing the change is unique and unparalleled. The entire lifestyle of humanity has undergone a sea change and with it, the choice of furniture for homes and office has also seen a transformation.

The nature of furniture was bound to change due to change in the modern house architecture. Old has given way to new and classicism has given way to modernism. But one thing that hasn't changed over the time is the desire of people to have the best of both the worlds. In this pursuit, we have seen a fine blend of classic and modern furniture that has given a new definition to modern furniture.

The classical Amish made furniture remains a hot favorite among the masses purely due to its mass and class appeal. Amish furniture, made with great efforts and skill by the Amish craftsmen, makes for a perfect traditional as well as modern home. Moreover, carefully crafted Amish oak furniture represents your sense of appreciating creativity.

The modern furniture should not be viewed as any kind of compromise with the solid and ethnic features of traditional furniture. All these features and much more is available with the modern furniture also. The development of modern furniture also owes a lot to the change in the job profile of modern folks. With frequent relocations, the choice of furniture had to adapt to the convenience of transportation. Moreover, the house dimensions are increasingly getting smaller, which makes the compact furniture a better choice. But even compact furniture comes in all shapes and sizes. The material used in modern furniture is equally good, if not better, than that used in traditional furniture.

Information Technology has proved to be a boon for the development of modern furniture. With the world getting merged in the cyberspace, people are getting increasingly exposed to different styles of furniture used in various parts of the globe. And globalization and liberalization have completed the cycle of growth for the modern day furniture. The availability of every type of furniture at the click of the mouse has made the shopping experience of an average Joe worth spending even few extra bucks.

With the unlimited options available, modern furniture requirements have also surged. What seemed luxury in the traditional sense of the term suddenly becomes a necessity. Now you need good outdoor furniture with matching kitchen furniture along with the usual exquisite indoor furniture.

The modern furniture has also changed the entire complexion of office furniture. The onslaught of cubicles means the furniture companies constantly strive to improve both the quality and look and feel of the modern office furniture. The development of exquisite computer furniture is also another indication of growing clout of modern furniture. However, one negative aspect of modern furniture that can be easily made out is that it becomes out-of-fashion pretty quickly.

The Six Advantages of Organic Bedroom Furniture

    1. They're environmentally friendly!
As mentioned earlier, getting organic furniture would help the environment because the usage of harmful chemicals will be reduced. Poisonous chemicals that help preserve and increase the lifespan of the furniture are very toxic to the environment. Most of these chemicals break down very slowly, and are very likely to poison the earth, the air and the water for a very long time if released to the environment. Organic furniture contains none of these preservatives and harmful chemicals. Using natural fibers like cotton or flax that are grown without the usage of pesticides pose no harm to the environment. Furthermore, organic bedroom furniture help reduce waste because they are very long-lasting and have a longer lifespan as compared to synthetic composite wood. These types of wood break down easily, adding to the bulk of waste and trash dumped into the environment. You are less likely to throw away organic furniture because they are very strong and long-lasting. Other than this, organic bedroom furniture manufacturers strive to reduce the usage of certain materials in furniture assembly and making that are not friendly to the environment. Synthetic backboards, Styrofoam packaging, bubble wraps and the like are not utilized anymore. All in all, you get beautiful furniture whilst protecting the environment.

    2. Air quality is improved
Much of the synthetic and non-organic solid wood furniture release the chemicals they are imbibed with into the air. As time goes by, the harmful preservatives find their way out of the hardwood panels of the furniture and into your lungs. Since organic bedroom furniture contain none of these pesticides and chemicals, you can be assured that the quality of air you breathe inside your bedroom or home will improve. There will be no chemicals that will go to your lungs, poisoning you little by little.

    3. Improvement in skin health
There are people who report having lots of rashes and other skin ailments in areas that are most commonly in contact with solid wood furniture like chairs, tables and beds. Allergic reactions from the chemicals that are in wooden furniture are not a foreign sight. The chemicals and other preservatives added to the wood of non-organic furniture come in contact with the person using it, an allergic reaction may happen, or worse, the chemical may poison the person by seeping into his skin to his bloodstream. Getting organic bedroom furniture with no chemicals would eliminate the danger of this happening to you and your family.
